TaskPilot

Privacy Policy

Effective 7 October 2026

TaskPilot is an Android app for managing tasks and projects with your team. This policy explains what data the app handles and how.

Information we collect

We use Google Firebase (Authentication, Realtime Database, Cloud Messaging and Crashlytics) to run the service. Your data is stored with Google Cloud.

How we use it

To provide the app: sign you in, show your workspace to your teammates, send notifications and reminders, and keep the service reliable and secure. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Google Calendar and Google user data

What we access. If you choose to turn on “Add to team’s Google Calendar” for a task, TaskPilot asks permission to manage events on your Google Calendar (the calendar.events scope). We use this only to create, update and delete the event for that task. We do not read your other calendar events, your calendar list or your settings.

What goes into the event. The event contains the task’s title and description, its priority and status, a link back to the task in TaskPilot, its due time, and the email addresses of the task’s assignees and followers, who are invited as attendees. Google sends those invitees a normal calendar invitation. Invitees can see each other’s email addresses, as with any Google Calendar invitation.

What we store. TaskPilot’s database keeps only the ID of the calendar event and the ID of the TaskPilot user who created it. We do not store your calendar data, and we do not store the Google access token; it is handled on your device by Google Play services.

Your control. You can turn the switch off on any task to remove its event, or delete the task to remove it too. You can revoke TaskPilot’s access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Google Drive

If you connect Google Drive, TaskPilot uploads attachments to a “TaskPilot” folder in your own Drive using the drive.file scope, which only lets the app see files it created. Files stay private and are shared with your workspace members’ email addresses. TaskPilot never stores files or images on its own servers; only the link to a file is saved with the task.

Google API Services User Data Policy

TaskPilot’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Sharing

We share data only with: your teammates in a workspace (the content you add to it); the people you invite to a calendar event or share a Drive file with; and Google, which provides the infrastructure and the Calendar and Drive services. We do not sell or rent personal information.

Retention and deletion

Your data is kept while your account and workspace exist. To delete your account and the personal data tied to it, follow the steps on the data deletion page; we act on requests within 30 days. You can also delete tasks, comments and workspaces inside the app. Files in your Google Drive are yours and are not deleted by us.

Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections, and access to workspace data is restricted by database security rules so only workspace members can read it. No online service can be perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and keep your device locked.

Children

TaskPilot is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

We may update this policy and will change the effective date above when we do. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
